Under-13 participation & insurance waiver

I understand that AlphaTech's standard minimum age for an A320 Flight Simulator Experience is 13 years.

I understand that AlphaTech may, at its discretion, permit a participant under the age of 13 to participate subject to additional conditions, including this waiver and any insurance requirements.

I understand that permission for an under-13 participant to take part is not automatic and remains subject to AlphaTech's acceptance of the booking.

I confirm that I have provided AlphaTech with information that I reasonably believe may be relevant to the participant's safe and successful participation in the simulator experience.

This may include information relating to communication, learning, sensory, behavioural, mobility or other support requirements.

I understand that providing this information allows AlphaTech to make reasonable preparations and adjustments where practicable.

I understand that the AlphaTech instructor has responsibility for the safe operation of the simulator during the experience.

I agree that the instructor may determine how and for how long the participant operates the simulator controls.

Where appropriate, the instructor may:

• Restrict access to particular controls
• Provide additional supervision or assistance
• Introduce breaks
• Change the activities undertaken
• Divide simulator access into shorter periods
• Pause simulator access
• Stop simulator access temporarily
• Stop simulator access for the remainder of that particular period

These decisions may be made where the instructor considers it necessary or appropriate for safety, welfare, equipment protection, effective participation or the overall quality of the experience.

I understand that the instructor's decision regarding simulator access is final for the session.

I understand that the booked experience duration represents the maximum allocated experience time and does not guarantee continuous operation of the simulator controls for that entire period.

If the instructor pauses or stops simulator access before the end of the allocated experience time because of the participant's circumstances, the remaining unused time is not automatically forfeited.

Where reasonably practicable, AlphaTech will arrange an opportunity for the participant to use the remaining allocated time at a later date or on another agreed occasion.

Any rearrangement will be subject to reasonable availability and AlphaTech's normal booking procedures.

I understand that the A320 simulator contains specialist and potentially fragile equipment.

I agree that the participant will follow reasonable instructions provided by the AlphaTech instructor regarding the use of simulator controls and equipment.

I understand that damage resulting from misuse, excessive force, deliberate action or failure to follow reasonable instructions may not be covered by AlphaTech's insurance.

I acknowledge that I may be responsible for costs associated with damage caused by the participant, to the extent permitted by the applicable terms and conditions and by law.

I understand that I remain responsible for the participant throughout the experience.

I agree to remain available to assist the participant and the AlphaTech instructor where reasonably required.

I understand that AlphaTech instructors are not acting as carers, medical professionals, therapists or specialist support workers.

Where a participant requires one-to-one support beyond what can reasonably be provided as part of the simulator experience, the parent or guardian remains responsible for providing that support.

I understand that the simulator environment may involve unfamiliar sounds, movement, lighting, displays, alarms and other sensory stimuli.

I acknowledge that the participant may be asked to leave or pause the simulator if the instructor considers this necessary for the participant's welfare or safety, or for the safety of other persons or the protection of the equipment.

I understand that this is not intended as a punishment or judgement of the participant.
